Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU), a private Catholic institution located in Baltimore, Maryland, invites applications and nominations for the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management & Freshmen Recruiting (AVPEM) position. Under the direction of the Senior Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Services (SVPEMSS), the AVPEM is responsible for the development, direction, implementation, and evaluation of all recruitment plans and activities related to prospective college freshmen to NDMU. The AVPEM will be a key driver of innovation through initiatives that are planned in accordance with current market factors and opportunities that are specific to Notre Dame of Maryland University.

NDMU offers distinctive undergraduate and graduate degree programs through its Women’s College and co-educational College of Adult Undergraduate Studies and College of Graduate & Professional Studies, as well as NDMU Online. The University enrolls approximately 2,200 students at its beautiful 60-acre campus in the northern Baltimore neighborhood of Homeland.

The Position

The Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management & Freshmen Recruitment oversees all aspects of traditional freshmen recruitment. Responsibilities include collaborating with the SVPEMSS in the development of annual recruitment goals, student search strategy and implementation, and budget recommendations and monitoring. The AVPEM is responsible for developing strategies to engage alumni in recruiting, collaborating with the SVPEMSS and Athletic Director on athletic recruiting, and partnering with Student Life and Academic Affairs in the design, implementation, and execution of registration programs. The AVPEM serves as a member of the Strategic Enrollment and Marketing Committee(s) and leads and mentors the freshmen recruiting staff and the assistant director of admissions for events and campus visits.

Qualifications

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and a minimum of five years of recruitment experience in higher education (private college or university preferred) with evidence of progressively increasing responsibility. The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to engage in recruitment planning and implementation, data and trend analysis, and program development, and have significant experience in developing and implementing enrollment management activities, with specific experience in traditional undergraduate admission and recruitment.

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated administrative and management experience, along with strong leadership and excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively represent the University with external and internal audiences and stakeholders. Strong initiative and ability to devise solutions to complex problems and effectively manage multiple long and short- term recruitment strategies, programs, and objectives are also expected. Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of students is expected. The selected candidate will have an appreciation and commitment to the history, values, and mission of NDMU. The position requires the use of independent judgment and discretion in decision-making. Knowledge of and experience is preferred with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (Ellucian Colleague), Enrollment Marketing Platform (EMP) system (Liaison), and Microsoft Office Suite.
