Effective Date: December 4, 2015
Thomas E. Williams & Company, LLC (“Williams & Company”, “we” or “our”) understands that you are concerned about privacy, so we’ve provided this privacy statement (the “Privacy Statement”) to disclose how we collect, use, share, and store your information. This Privacy Statement applies to all websites that we own or operate, including “williamscompany.net”.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Personally Identifiable Information
As appropriate, Williams & Company may collect personally identifiable information from you when you voluntarily provide it to us, including, for example, when you register as a candidate, submit a resume, respond to employment opportunities, or communicate with us via email, social media, postal mail or phone. This information may include your name, address, telephone number, email address, resume, information about your current employment (potentially including your current salary, if you provide it), information about your professional accomplishments, information about your career objectives, and any other information you choose to provide to us. We may also collect personal information about you from third parties, including, for example, when a reference you identify provides information about you, or from other sources such as public or private databases and social media platforms. We may also collect information about you such as your use of our website and communication preferences. To the extent we are able to do so, we may link non-personally identifiable information relating to you with your personally identifiable information. We may also link information collected online with information we collect offline or that is collected online by third parties. We collect this information in order to identify potential candidates for employment opportunities, to improve the delivery of our services, and to improve the relevance of the information we provide on our website.
Non-personally Identifiable Information
We do not collect personally identifiable information from your computer when you browse this website and request pages from the servers. Unless you voluntarily and knowingly provide us with personally identifiable information, we will not know your name, your email address, or any other personally identifiable information simply from your browsing activity. We do, however, collect automatically certain non-personally identifiable information. For example, we collect information about the devices you use to connect to our website, such as the IP address of your computer or numeric identifier of your mobile device and about how and when you use our website (as noted above, this information does not identify you personally unless you choose to identify yourself to us).
SHARING OF INFORMATION
Additionally, Williams & Company may provide your personal information, without your consent, to service providers or contractors to perform functions on our behalf, including, but not limited to, companies or individuals hired to: communicate news; deliver Williams & Company’s promotional materials via email and direct mail; promote Williams & Company’s social media presence and activities; to develop, enhance, market, or provide any of Williams & Company’s services; and to assist Williams & Company otherwise with sending communications and performing other marketing and support functions. These parties are contractually prohibited from using personally identifiable information for any purpose other than for the purpose Williams & Company specifies. Also, Williams & Company may use third-party social media platforms, including third-party social media websites, to communicate with you. We also provide non-personally identifiable information to certain service providers for their use on an aggregated basis for the purpose of performing their contractual obligations to us.
THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES AND SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS
The Williams & Company website may contain links to third-party websites or other online services, including social media platforms. Such third parties have their own policies that govern their collection, use, and disclosure of information. In the case of social media platforms, the privacy settings you have chosen for those individual social media platforms will affect whether and what personal information of yours is made public. Williams & Company has no responsibility or liability for these independent policies or actions. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our website and to read the privacy statements of each and every website or online service that they visit and to consciously select their privacy settings on any social media platforms they use.
DO NOT TRACK
Your browser and other mechanisms may permit you to send do-not-track signals or other similar signals to express your preferences regarding online tracking. To the extent you employ such browser do-not-track signals or other similar mechanisms, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to honor such requests received by us to the extent we have the capacity and resources to identify and process your request. Due to the potential for rapid and diverse developments of technology in this area, we cannot guarantee that we can process every type of request that exists or may be developed in the future. As noted above, third parties may collect data that relates to you. We cannot control third parties’ responses to do-not-track signals or other such mechanisms. Third parties’ use of data relating to you and responsiveness to do-not-track signals is governed by their respective privacy policies.
EMAILS AND OPT-OUT
It is our intention to send you only email communications that will be useful to you and that you want to receive. These communications will relate to Williams & Company’s services. We use a third-party email service provider to send emails. This service provider is prohibited from using your email address for any purpose other than to send Williams & Company related email. When you receive an email, you will be provided the choice to opt-out of future emails by following the instructions provided in the email.
