How different is the coming generation?

About half of the students who start college never graduate and more than 80% of the drop-out occurs during the first two years of college and most occurs during the first year. Today, only about 25% of the U.S. adult population holds a college degree!

•    Size – the high school Class of 2009 will be the largest in U.S. history
•    The college age population will exceed 30 million by 2015
•    Between 1995 and 2015, 20% more students are projected to enroll in colleges and universities
•    College enrollment should reach 16 million by 2015 assuming today’s participation rate of 66%
•    Today, 88% of high school students aspire to attend college
•    Diversity – Students of color will represent 80% of the increase in the college-age population
•    Nearly 50% of the new growth will be Hispanic
•    Among minority students, 45% will come from families with the lowest estimated family contribution
•    Only 6% of all students from the lowest income group earn bachelor’s degrees compared to 40% of students from the highest income group

Mike Frantz Returns to Buena Vista University BVU selected Mike Frantz as its next vice president for enrollment management. Frantz first served the University from 1989 to 1998 as admissions counselor, associate director of admissions, and director of admissions. He left in 1998 to become vice president for enrollment management at Wilkes University. Since 2009, Frantz has served as vice president for enrollment at Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania.

Recruiting and Placement of Effective Enrollment Managers 2008 Achieving effectiveness as an enrollment manager require an understanding of how to be effective. Top skills include analytical and technical skills. The ability to be a teamplayer but at the same time possess leadership skills. Time management and multi tasking is also of the essence.
